Cultural extravaganza unfolds at Dance Festival and Samskruta Sirulu

Vijayawada witnessed a mesmerizing showcase of talent as the Sai Geetha Mandiram in Enikepadu became the stage for the ‘Dance Festival and Samskruta Sirulu,’ orchestrated on a grand scale by the esteemed Arunodaya Kala Samithi. The event, marked by captivating performances of classical dance forms by talented children, proved to be a cultural spectacle that enthralled the audience.

The stage came alive with the graceful performances of Chakarika, K Soudamini, G Sreenisha, Y Dikshitha, and K Sri Sai Lakshmi, leaving the audience spellbound with their artistry. The Arunodaya Kala Samithi, a prominent cultural organization in Vijayawada, curated an event that showcased the rich heritage of classical dances.

The event was inaugurated by Natya Guru Chinta Venkat, representing the Abhinaya Art Academy, who emphasized the imperative of preserving the profound cultural legacy embedded in classical dances. As the chief guest, Venkat lauded the young performers and underscored the importance of passing down these cultural treasures to future generations.

Guest of honor, Krishna Kumar KK, drew attention to the increasing interest in Indian classical arts among NRIs. He expressed concern about the potential need for future generations to seek education in Indian cultural arts abroad due to a lack of encouragement domestically.

Pikki Manzoosha, the organizer of the event and president of Arunodaya Kala Samithi, shared that ten groups would participate in the two-day extravaganza. The inaugural day featured captivating performances, including Kuchipudi by Nrutya Varsha Group, Sameeha Nrityalaya Group, V Satyam Master Group, Sritha Natyalaya Group, and Bharatha Natyam by Lasya Natyalaya.

The ‘Samskruta Sirulu’ Dance Festival not only serves as a platform for celebrating the artistic prowess of young performers but also sends a powerful message about the need to nurture and safeguard India’s classical dance traditions. As the event unfolds over the next day, it promises to be a cultural feast for enthusiasts, fostering a deeper appreciation for the nation’s rich and diverse artistic heritage.
