In a momentous leap towards enhancing connectivity and offering a breathtaking experience for residents and visitors alike, Udaipur proudly inaugurated the Neemach Mata Mandir ropeway, a magnificent project by Damodar Ropeways and Infra Ltd (DRIL). Nestled against the stunning backdrop of Fateh Sagar Lake, this ropeway stands as an iconic addition to the city’s attractions, providing an efficient link to the revered Neemach Mata Mandir.
This endeavor marks DRIL’s second ropeway venture in Rajasthan, following the resounding success of the Savitri Mala Ropeway in Pushkar. The Neemach Mata Mandir ropeway spans a total distance of 429.19 meters, transforming the once 45-minute ascent to the temple into a mere 3-minute ride. With 12 well-ventilated cabins featuring automatic doors, the ropeway has the capacity to transport 400 passengers per hour.
Operating daily from 7 am to 8 pm throughout January, the roundtrip ticket cost is an affordable INR 185 per passenger. Utilizing a mono cable fixed grip system, the ropeway gracefully ascends over a 500-foot elevation, providing a swift and scenic journey for its riders.
A notable feature of the project is its commitment to minimizing impact on the surrounding greenery. Passengers are treated to a visual feast of the Southern Aravalli region’s beauty, emphasizing the harmonious coexistence of modern infrastructure with nature.
